I think the illuminati have bigger fish to fry

2014-10-7Another comic stolen from the mind of my wife!  Man, she’s two-for-two.  For real though, grab your organite and watch out for the chem trails, ’cause the autumn-pumpkin monopoly has got to stop, and I think I saw tom hanks running around a little while ago, so i wouldn’t be surprised if around christmas time, all the pumpkin stuff disappears.  it’s all part of their plan.

Decaf is awesome cause I can drink a lot of it and I won’t get shaky.  …But regular coffee is awesome for the exact opposite reason.  Man!  I’m tired.  Time for bed.  Have a great Tuesday everyone!

don’t be that guy

2014-8-1

you know, that guy who complains about the heat in the summer, the cold in the winter, allergies in the spring and rain in the fall…  unless you are in a drought, which i know many Californians are, or in a flood, which many saskachewan people were, in which case i think you can lament…  but to the rest of us, i say, pick a favourite season and just enjoy it.  yay!!!

Mobility is its own reward

2014-7-10

Landmarks in mobility, working backwards:
10)  Being able to fly on a plane
9)  Being able to drive a car
8)  Being able to take public transit by yourself
7)  Being able to ride a car without a booster seat
6)  Being able to ride a bike
5)  Being able to walk
4)  Being able to ride in a car without a rear-facing seat
3)  Being able to crawl
2)  Being able to roll consecutively in one direction
1)  Being able to flip-over

According to this chart I JUST made up, Josie is only 8 steps away from MOBILITY DOMINATION.

Lil’ Joe isn’t quite walking, or crawling even… but rolling?  Rolling faster than the speed of safety?  Yep.  She’s got that DOWN PAT.  Constant supervision is required.  Baby-proofing is just around the corner.  Honestly!  why are babies always almost fallin’ off of stuff?  Change-tables, couches, normal-tables, bouncy-seats, chairs…left to her own devices, she would roll out of all of them.  PARENTHOOD, amirite?

Have a great thursday everyone!  This week is really flying by!  remember- if you are reading these on facebook, please hit “like” on the “charlie and the ghost webcomic” facebook page!  That way, these updates will keep showing up in your news feed.  At the end of the week, i’m gonna stop sharing these comics on my personal profile!

the difference between autumn and fall

2013-10-29Diana said that i was supposed to mention that Charlie is drinking a pumpkin spice latte.  SICK.  or delicious?  nope, just sick.  Coffee and pumpkin pie are two delicious flavours that i think should remain distinct.  …The exception is pumpkin pie blizzards, which are amazing… but that is combining pumpkin with delicious DQ soft serve, which is always a good idea.
So this comic is a direct rip-off of my mom’s facebook status yesterday.  It’s been a particularly windy couple of days, and you really notice it when you have maple trees scattered around, because their leaves are bigger then your head.
The difference between autumn and fall is when you need to be  cautious of falling objects.

Yesterday was my day off, and i’m really trying to get over this nasty sinus headache dizzy gross-feeling blagh-ness, so most of the day consisted of me watching the entire second season of initial D, and a bunch of movies that were on my neflix que.  One of which was comic book confidential!  OH MAN, what an inspiring movie.  If one of my comic endeavours ever makes it on a documentary some day, that would be super cool.  I could even be that one guy that every documentary has that’s like “Rob Shauf drew charlie and the ghost.  Its collected work is an instantly forgettable piece of poo, but for some reason, he drew it for 3+ years.  He is quoted as saying that, ‘it’s good drawing practice, but i wish i could write them better, maybe if i had more time, but i don’t, so it’s fine’.  He faded into obscurity (though, to be fair, he was never really known) once people realized most of his comics were based off of facebook status updates either that his friends and family made, or ones that Rob himself should have made, which would have gave him the satisfaction of feeling funny while saving himself a couple hours of drawing.  If he would have done pushups instead of driving, he could probably have learned how to do a hand stand, which is really cool and not a lot of people can do it nowadays, in the year 2045, when this documentary is being made”.  If you read this far, you get a medal.

breaking news: it’s the fall!

2013-9-23Actually, according to google, yesterday was the first day of fall!  air conditioners get put away, fire places get turned on…  it’s a beautiful time of the year.  I would rather be cold and work to be hot, than be hot and work to be cold.

Well, actually, i’d rather just be warm.

In any case!  Happy monday!  have a great weeeeeeek!

Edit:  by the by, there’s nothing wrong with pumpkin-pie flavoured coffee.  mmm

…darn kids!

2013-3-27I wanted the last panel of this comic strip to be kids laughing at me.  I mean charlie.  Because this isn’t auto-biographical AT ALL.
But, I don’t really know how to draw kids.  With the new style, charlie has a bit of a kid-look to him…  but i can’t really figure out how to do kids in this new way.
Most of my favourite comic strips have kids at the centre.  Calvin and Hobbs is by far my favourite, and i have a soft spot in my heart for Charlie brown, and I’ve been reading through the years of bloom county!  SO!  completely un-authorized cameos.  I hope i don’t get in trouble, i can’t imagine that it would be a big deal, and if it is, i’ll just change it.  It’s not like i’m making money off of it.  Sometimes I forget how much fun it is to draw other people’s characters!

Everyone, have a great wednesday!  My parents fly out tomorrow night.  How exciting!
