It really is one of the best ways to get past a riddle-obsessed gatekeeper.
I DO enjoy a good riddle, so long as it’s actually a good one. Some riddles are like “I have ears but cannot hear” and you answer “Corn” and they’re like “No, I’m a deaf person” and it’s like… there’s no need for that. We can do better.
I had a teacher in high school who would start each class with ‘brain teasers’ (riddles) which had solutions that were impossible to deduce. Now that I’m studying to be a teacher, I half expect that my teacher had no answer in mind and just made up the most bizarre thing he could think of after we tried to answer it for fifteen minutes. It’s sort of genius, actually.
