It’s a stinker

I really do love making music! I’ve been slacking on making comics because it’s too much fun spending time making music. I think maybe I’ll make an EP of instrumental music and post it online somewhere.

Alrighty, GoGoMachRocketeers! Here it is- a little something I’ve been working on for the last week or so. I made it as a proof of concept for a way of combining my two hobbies: making music, and making comics!

These days, I haven’t been feeling much like making daily comic strips. Making comic strips is a source of joy to me when I’m in the right headspace. Usually my “writing workflow” goes something like this: I’m going about my day, something really bizarre or funny (or even completely normal but I think of it in a bizarre or funny way) happens, and I think “this would be a funny comic” and that evening, I draw it and post it. That’s fun! Because I love drawing and it’s nice to have something to draw. But Covid doesn’t have me in a “daily comic strip” headspace, and sitting around trying to think up something funny to draw doesn’t really help. I’d rather sit around and dream up other things, and so…

Covid DOES have me in a “making music” and “dreaming up stories” sort of a mood. way way WAY before I made charlie and the ghost and spacechuck and gogomachrocketsheep comic strips, I made youtube videos (which are lost to youtube time, I can’t find them) which were essentially slide shows set to music telling a story. I wish i could find them, just to see if I’ve gotten any better. But anyways, this video is a proof of concept for one iteration further than a music slideshow- a little animation, some still images, set to music, that tell a story that I have fun making. AND, I think more people are willing to watch a 3 minute video than are willing to sit down and read 3 minutes of comics.

Anyways, I hope you liked this video! Thanks for watching. has short comic stories featuring the characters in this short movie! And if you like the song, I might put out a gogomachrocketsheep EP once I’ve got a few of these under my belts.

Hello GoGo!

Hello GoGoMachRocketBuddies! I haven’t updated in a few days. I miss the odd update here and there, but I don’t tend to miss a few days in a row without saying something. So I’m saying something!

I’ve been using my comic drawing time to work on a fun project that’ll take a while to finish. It combines my love for drawing with my love of making music. This pic is a little teaser of it. I can hardly wait to show it (but I’m not even half way done it yet! haha).

Another thing I might be doing is making a printed collection of GoGoMachRocketSheep comics! I always like having a comic book to flip through. I wasn’t going to do print books anymore, but there’s just something fun about putting a collection together and reading through it years after the fact.

Anyways, I hope all is well enough in your world!

The last dance: reflections

Just finished Netflix’s “the last dance” Michael Jordan bulls documentary series! So good, very entertaining watch. I think this may be my favourite way to watch sports- 20 years after the fact, with everybody old and chatty.

anyways, I was thinking this thought as we watched the episode when Diana asked me if I wanted an ice cream sandwich and I felt indecision. How ridiculous! So I made it into a comic.

With apologies to Bryce

I mean, I have nothing against Bryce, but Tom Everyman sure has a bone to pick.
For the sake of the comic, I just needed the name of a kid who probably got into a lot of trouble and probably didn’t get away with it a lot of the time. To me, that’s a Bryce for sure. To be fair, most of the Bryce’s that I’ve known have been perfectly respectable and upstanding citizens. I also happen to know that there are some kids names you don’t say around teachers on summer vacation, and there tends to be a lot of overlap between teachers.

Kids say the darndest things

The first Three panels are accurate. Experimenting with a new four panel format! It’s so popular these days.
