
I made this comic for in medias res, which is Saint Thomas More’s literary magazine.
This is a story I remember hearing my mom and my great-aunt talk about when I was just a kid. I couldn’t tell you if it is a thing that actually happened in my family, or if it was just a joke they told each other- my mom doesn’t remember the story, and my Auntie isn’t with us anymore. Either way! I thought it was a good illustration of how traditions can continue even if the rituals they pass along are no longer relevant.
