They can’t all be winners.

I was teaching a lesson on Theoretical probability VS Experiential probability. We started with a question: How many games of Rock, Paper, Scissors should a person expect to win? Some said 50/50 chance, because there are two people playing. Some said 1/3 chance of winning, because there are actually 3 potential end states of a game of rock paper scissors (Win, Lose, Draw!). So we played games for 5 minutes, tallied up our wins/losses/ties, and then compared theoretical probability to experiential probability. My win rate was great, I had something like a 75% chance of winning (because I figured out two games in that all of the students always picked scissors to start!). But in order for me to have a good win rate that beat the theoretical probability, somebody else had to have a poor win rate that was worse than the theoretical probability.

I feel like that sorta thing happens all the time. Anyways, raw carrots make me choke. I don’t think it’s an allergy.
