OFF TO THE RACES! I’m really enjoying the casual return to semi (VERY semi) autobiographical joke comic strips… 10% based in something that likely happened, 90% just trying to make a funny comic strip. I’m gonna run with this ‘new’ art style for my autobio comics moving forward for a few reasons: First, it’s super loose and fun to make, I spend exactly 0 minutes stressing about how the art looks, which lets me focus on writing. and second, because COLOUR PRINTING is WICKED EXPENSIVE and black and white comics are RAD. Anyhoo, here’s the comics I made lately:

A friend of mine (Jody from Amazing stories, the greatest comic shop I’ve ever known!) sent me a link to a band she was a part of that has an album that’s all about coffee at the co-op. Check it out: https://theshakeyelevators.bandcamp.com/album/at-the-co-op

I did end up getting the email. It’s funny- of the two placements I did last year, both requested me to come back to their school, but both didn’t work out for a variety of reasons and I was SWEATING! But it worked out in the end, kudos to the uSask College of Education Field Experiences staff for making it happen!

And just in case you wanted to see the painting, it’s a robot from Macross 7. I actually forgot to take a photo of it when it was done, but here is a progress shot. It was 4ft by 2ft and was a ton of fun to make! Acrylic, Posca, ink and medium.

Thanks so much for reading these comics and this blog post! I just got back from doing BOLDTCON in Humboldt, Sask, and it was a lot of fun (that link is to an article about the convention, and there’s a brief interview with me in the article!). Sold some books, met some rad people, good times all around!

A number of people at the convention asked if I had an online store, and at the moment I do not. I should really get that sorted out before my internship starts in the fall and I don’t have any time to get one set up.
That’s it for now! Thanks again for reading my comics, and keep your eyes peeled for online store options in the future! 😀

This really is the MAIN advantage! STICKERS FOR EVERYONE!!
another advantage for b&w comics is that they print very nice on receipt thermal printers
