Today is the first Sunday of advent, which means I don’t feel bad about Christmas decorations starting to make their way into the public imagination! So we’re gonna be drawing some Christmas and holiday themed things for the next little while, and this week we’re tackling Christmas Stockings!

I didn’t make a whole lot of comics this week. I’m reminded (once again) of how writing and art find their perfect union in comics, and how (these days) I prefer to focus on art. My brain is too overwhelmed from what seems like one disaster after another- as I type this, the rains that were gentle and receding a few days ago are now pounding my garage door so loud. I can hear powerboats in the distance, meaning (once again) the water has likely flooded and people are scrambling to get where they need to go. Anyways, all of this doesn’t make me feel like writing comics. No sweat- not like I have any deadlines!
I did, however, in the quiet days of rain receding, write this song which I recorded yesterday. I haven’t been able to record a song I like in a very long time, so I’m pretty happy about it.
Other than that, I put together a video of a bunch of random drawings I made set to some other music I made at some point.
Making this video gave me an idea, and I’ve started working on it. It’s going to be the most ambitious art/video project I’ve ever made and I think it’s going to be really cool when it’s done! …which it won’t be for quite a while. I don’t want to say what it is out loud, I have this bad habit of not completing projects when I start talking about the details of them, so I’ll just keep it quiet. But there probably won’t be that many comics in the next little while as I focus on getting this other stuff done.
