I’ve been watching through the simpsons on Disney + and I’ve noticed two things in the first season.
- Marge is 34, which means I am the same age as the parents in the simpsons
- homer weighs himself in one episode, and (at my heaviest last year) I weighed the same as homer simpson
these were staggering realizations, but that is a post for another time. For now: I love the early seasons of the simpsons because they found humour in telling stories that focus around family life and were largely relatable (as opposed to the later seasons, where they seemed to try and compete with other shows that took a more random and bizarre approach to humor).
